Chapter 15 (
Haruto Kaguragi visits Oto Edogawa at the convenience store. They go to the batting cages with her co-worker and the co-worker's boyfriend. At a restaurant, Airi Maya suddenly shows up and tearfully apologizes.
Plot[]
On a national holiday, Haruto Kaguragi is bored at home playing cricket. He visits Oto Edogawa, who is working at the convenience store with Arisa Konno. Konno invites Haruto and Oto to hang out with her and her boyfriend, Mi-tan. Oto tries to decline, but decides to go after thinking that Haruto may insult Konno. Mi-tan arrives and mistakes Haruto to be Oto's boyfriend. Nonetheless, he is excited to meet someone who attends Eitoku and promises to "brag" about it later.
The four of them go to the batting cages. Mi-tan hits a few balls, but is having an "off day" and hands the bat to Haruto. Never having played baseball before, Haruto misses on his first try. Oto comments that "he's a really hard worker" as he makes several more attempts. Haruto finally hits a home run and wins a large plush toy in the shape of a mouse. He gives it Konno, telling her "it looks just like you". Konno, however, takes no offense by the remark. Oto thinks to herself, "I'm so glad they're nice people."
At a monja restaurant, Oto stops Haruto from making a rude comment about the food. Haruto talks about Tenma Hase being Oto's childhood friend, leading to him to mention Airi Maya. He tells Oto that Airi posted the fliers for "Eitoku's sake". Oto thinks Airi did it for a different reason, but she does not voice her opinion. Unexpectedly, Airi materializes in the restaurant's doorway. Haruto questions her about why she showed up. Airi, with tears in her eyes, tells him that she came to apologize. She then asks Oto for forgiveness.
