Chapter 3 (
Oto Edogawa embarrasses Haruto Kaguragi by slapping him with a piece of beef. Haruto begins plotting his revenge and spies on her at work. On her way home from work, Oto's co-worker Tadashi Maeno scares her.
After slapping Haruto Kaguragi with a piece of meat, Oto calls him out for "telling us to come to your house and then lording it over us." She calls him "the worse" and leaves with her co-workers. In shock, Haruto watches her walking away and imagines how he wanted the situation to happen. Kaito Taira later arrives at the mansion to tell Haruto that Oto is poor, since her father's business went bankrupt. He suggests kicking her out of the school, but Haruto wants her to "suffer" for embarrassing him.
At work, Oto apologizes about the barbecue to her co-workers. Oto goes to the back to restock and another co-worker, Maeno startles her. He reaches out to touch her and she pulls away. Oto quickly leaves, thinking to herself that "Maeno can be kinda scary." Outside, Haruto is spying on Oto with binoculars. Kaito comments that "[this is] called stalking". At that moment, Oto walks out of the store to go home. Maeno walks out just moments later and follows Oto into the park.
Oto is startled by Maeno, when he calls out name from behind. He asks to walk home together, despite living in the opposite direction. Oto immediately becomes scared of Maeno and tries to get away from him. He grabs both of her arms as she struggles. Out of nowhere, Haruto kicks Maeno in the back, sending him flying. Maeno says "I didn't do nothin'" and runs away. A crying Oto looks up and asks Haruto, "what are you doing here?". Haruto continues standing there, shocked by his own actions.
