Wang Yue (Chinese: 王月; pinyin: Wáng Yuè, born April 9, 1965 in Taiwan), also known as Moon Wang, is a Taiwanese actress, screenwriter, producer, and director. She is well known for her portrayal of Shan Cai's mother in Meteor Garden and Meteor Garden II. Wang also had a cameo role in the 2018 remake.

Early life

Wang Yue was born on April 9, 1965 in Taiwan. She majored in acting at the National Institute of Arts (now Taipei National University of the Arts).

In 1986, she co-founded a troupe, Ping-Fong Acting Troupe (屏風表演班) with future husband, Hugh Lee. Wang was the troupe's program director. Ping-Fong closed in December 2013, following her husband's death in July.

Wang had a small role in the 1998 film, Flowers of Shanghai. In 2001, she appeared in Meteor Garden as Shan Cai's mother. She reprised the role in the 2002 sequel, Meteor Garden II. Wang has also appeared in Poor Prince (2001) and Hi My Sweetheart (2009). In 2014, she costarred with Rainie Yang in Endless Nights in Aurora, which was written by her husband and directed by her son, Li Siyuan.

Personal life

She married Hugh Lee on July 18, 1989. They had two children together, Li Siyuan (李思源, born December 24, 1990) and Li Hui Ping (李慧凭, born December 14, 1992). Her husband died on July 2, 2013 of colorectal cancer.
