Aside from the title song, a ballad and karaoke version is included on the single. "Flavor Of Life -Antidote Mix-" was only published on the CD release.
Background
"Flavor of Life" was Hikaru's eighteenth single and was included on her 2008 album, Heart Station and greatest hits album, Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 2. The song also served as an insert song for the 2007 drama, Hana Yori Dango Returns. It was her first drama tie-in song since "Sakura Drops" on TBS's First Love in 2002.
The song was a huge success, reaching #1 on the Oricon charts and selling over 651,000 copies. The ballad version of the song was downloaded over three million times.[1][2] The song was on Japan Gold Disc Award's list of the Best 10 Singles of 2008, along with "Love So Sweet" by Arashi.[3]
