Hana Yori Dango: Romantic Story (花より男子 ロマンチックストーリー Hana Yori Dango Romanchikku Sutōrī) is a series of fifteen light novels by Shimako Takeuchi. They are based on the manga, Boys Over Flowers by Yoko Kamio and included illustrations by her.[1] Some of the illustrations were included in Kamio's art book in 1995.

The novels were published by Shueisha under their Cobalt-Pinky (コバルトピンキー文庫)[2] label from 1994 to 1998. They were all reprinted and released on October 17, 2005 under the Cobalt label.



Shimako Takeuchi (竹内 志麻子 () ) is a pen name of the Japanese writer, Shimako Iwai (岩井 志麻子 (いわい しまこ) Iwai Shimako, born December 5, 1964). She wrote many novelizations under her pen name for Shueisha Cobalt, including a novelization of the Super Gals! manga. Hana Yori Dango: Romantic Story was her last work under this name.
