She and her friends wrote "Tsukushi Makino - only girl in her school who had two abortions" on their classroom's blackboard. Tsukushi did not witness them write it, but later saw them wiping away the words. They pretended to like Tsukushi and invited her to a party in Roppongi. At the party, they made fun of her clothes and treated her rudely, eventually revealing themselves.[1]
Physical appearance
Minako resembled her friend Yuriko in that they had similar facial features, height, and body shape. She usually wore a headband in hair, or otherwise wore it up into a bun. Her wardrobe outside of school was composed of name-brand clothing, including a Chanel suit.
Minako is portrayed by Norika Fujiwara in the film Hana Yori Dango (1995). Fujiwara would go on to work with several actors involved with various incarnations of Boys Over Flowers.
Emiko Matsuoka portrays Minako in eight episodes of Hana Yori Dango (2005).[2] Minako with Yuriko and Erika bully Tsukushi after she receives a red card and several other times.[3] Later, they paint the school's cafeteria, calling Tsukushi a "nasty slut". They pretend to be Tsukushi's friend and invite her to the party, where they make fun of her clothes. Shizuka sees the girls bullying Tsukushi and sprays champagne on them, causing them to fall into the pool.[4] In the last episode, Minako and her friends try to sabotage Tsukushi in the TOJ contest.[5]
Matsuoka also plays Minako in eight episodes of Hana Yori Dango Returns (2007).[6] Minako's role in the drama is lessened, having her appear periodically with few lines. She and her friends continue to dislike Tsukushi,[7] though they treat her more civilly, later congratulating her on her engagement to Tsukasa.[8]
In Hana Yori Dango Final, Matsuoka appears alongside Aki Fukada (Erika Ayuhara) as guests at Tsukushi and Tsukasa's wedding.
