Shigeyasu Yamauchi (山内 重保 (やまうち しげやす) Yamauchi Shigeyasu, born April 10, 1953 in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan) is a Japanese anime director and producer. He is best known for his work on the Dragon Ball Z franchise.

He was the series director of Boys Over Flowers anime and also directed Hana Yori Dango: The Movie.


Early life

Shigeyasu Yamauchi was born on April 10, 1953 in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan. He received his first credit on Chōgattai Majutsu Robo Ginguiser as an assistant director in the late 1970s.


Yamauchi went on to work on Maison Ikkoku, Ranma 1/2, Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z, Flame of Recca, and Cowboy Bebop in the 1980s and 90s in various positions. More recently, he has worked on Blood+, Chihayafuru, and Sailor Moon Crystal.
